Men, You are invited to join ATLAS Director Jason Haug via Zoom each Thursday evening in May for a Bible study on finding help and hope in the fight against pornography, lust, and sexual sin. Join us whether you have struggled with these things personally OR if you want to learn how to help other men fight these things in their lives. Each meeting we’ll walk through a specific passage of Scripture that helps us understand why and how we struggle and how we can fight. Each lesson will help us see how we fight lust in our lives by knowing Jesus Christ as our greatest delight. There is no workbook to purchase. All you will need is a Bible. The study is free, but you do need to register to be able to participate. The meeting link and password will only be emailed out each week to those who have registered online at: www.atlaswcmn.org/event-registration. FAQs – WHO? – Men only. Specifically, any men wanting to fight pornography, lust, or sexual sin in their own lives. OR, any men wanting to help other men fight these things in their lives. WHERE? – For now we’ll meet via Zoom. If social distancing restrictions are lifted before the end of May, we will try to meet in person at a location TBD. WHEN? – Each Thursday evening in May (May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28). We’ll start at 6:30pm and be done by 8pm. NO ONE DELIGHTS IN FIGHTING LUST. SO WHY CALL THIS CLASS “DELIGHT TO FIGHT”? – The name “Delight to fight” doesn’t mean we enjoy fighting lust. It means delight is the way we fight lust. We fight lust by finding a greater delight in Jesus Christ as he’s been revealed to us in God’s Word. WHAT PASSAGES WILL WE STUDY? – The weekly schedule will be as follows. This is not intended to be a comprehensive study of every passage in Scripture that touches on sexual temptation. May 7 – Like an Ox to Slaughter (Proverbs 7) – Uncover the trap sexual temptation sets for us. May 14 – Doubting God (Genesis 1-3) – Understand the root cause of lust in our lives. May 21 – Unsatisfied (2 Samuel 11 & 12) – Learn how unsatisfaction pulls us into a deadly downward spiral and how we can escape it. May 28 – Everything for Nothing (Hebrews 12:16, Genesis 25:29-34) – Discover the insane trade we are in danger of making when we give into sexual temptation.
